Kids Workshop: Make Your Own Sketchbook | January 4, 9 to 10:30 in the morning

Give young artists the chance to design and build their very own sketchbook in this hands on workshop. Kids will learn simple book binding techniques while creating a personalized cover that reflects their interests and unique style. We begin by choosing a theme, sketching ideas in pencil and learning how to fill the space with confident, intentional drawing. Children are encouraged to include their name creatively and explore what makes their artwork feel like theirs.

Once the cover design is finished, students trace their lines with fine and ultra fine markers, then bring everything to life with bold color using construction paper crayons or colored pencils. We teach coloring and detailing in a supportive, easy to follow way so every child feels proud of their work.

After the covers are complete, we assemble each sketchbook using either rubber band binding or staple binding, depending on preference. Every child will leave with a finished sketchbook and a few simple prompts to help them start drawing right away.

This workshop will be held on January 4 from 9 to 10:30 in the morning. Seating is limited to keep the group small and relaxed, so early registration is recommended.

Ages 5+. Parents may join. Seats must be purchased in advance, and a ticket is required for each participant to cover materials.
