Copper Wire Raku Vase (Large)

This large Copper Wire Raku Vase is a true one-of-a-kind piece, hand-thrown and trimmed in Freeport, Maine. After shaping and drying, copper wire is carefully wrapped around the vessel before it’s fired in a raku kiln — a process that transforms the surface into a stunning mix of blues, coppers, and smoky tones. Once removed from the kiln, it’s placed in combustibles to develop its unique metallic and matte textures. The result is an organic, unpredictable finish that can never be repeated. Intended for decorative use only; not food safe.

This is first hand thrown and trimmed, wrapped in copper wire and then fired in a raku kiln and then placed in combustables to create the colors seen. This is not food safe, decorative use only.
